Il basilico è una pianta aromatica profumatissima, quello genovese è stato premiato con la denominazione D.O.P. ma al mondo ne esisto una quarantina di varietà.

Tra le varietà più particolari da provare troviamo il basilico:

Proprietà del basilico

Il basilico è una pianta che viene usata soprattutto in cucina, ma anche in fitoterapia ha un ruolo importante. Le virtù delle sue foglie profumate sono meno conosciute del suo aroma.

  • VITAMINE: A, B, C ed E
  • MINERALI: Magnesio, potassio, ferro, fosforo, calcio e zinco
  • AMINOACIDI: In particolare TRIPTOFANO che aiuta nella produzione di serotonina (l’ormone della felicità!).
  • ANTIOSSIDANTI

Per cosa fa bene?

  • Raffreddori e tosse catarrosa
  • Digestione lenta, stitichezza e dolori addominali
  • Insonnia, ansia e depressione
  • Inappetenza
  • Emicranie
  • Antinfiammatorio
  • Stimola la secrezione lattea nelle donne che allattano

ATTENZIONE: Cercate di utilizzare le foglie più grandi di piantine alte almeno 10 cm e non fatelo cuocere troppo perché può diventare tossico. Inoltre, come per tutte le cose, meglio non abusarne.

Il basilico si può usare fresco: non solo come erba aromatica ma è possibile mangiarlo fresco in insalata.

Come si usa il basilico

  • PUNTURE DI ZANZARA: Strofinare una foglia sulle punture per lenire il prurito.
  • NAUSEA: masticate una foglia.

Proprietà del basilico come infuso: lasciar riposare per 5 minuti 20 g di foglie in un litro d’acqua bollente.

  • DIGESTIONE: 1 tazzina dopo i pasti.
  • MAL DI GOLA: gargarismi.
  • PELLE: Aggiungetelo all’acqua del bagno per distendere e tonificare la pelle del vostro corpo.
  • ANSIA E STRESS: Una tazza dopo cena.

Proprietà del basilico come Olio EssenzialeEvitare l’assunzione in gravidanza e nei bambini sotto i 6 anni.

  • RAFFREDDORI e CATARRO: Ha un ottimo potere espettorante e bastano poche gocce nell’aerosol.
  • EMICRANIE: Massaggiatelo sulle tempie.
  • SISTEMA NERVOSO: Per un’azione rilassante e positiva sul sistema nervoso mettetene qualche goccia (calcolate una goccia per metro quadro) in un brucia essenze. D’estate terrà anche lontane le zanzare.
  • CELLULITE E EDEMI: Massaggiare le gambe con qualche goccia per riattivare la circolazione.
  • IRRITAZIONI CUTANEE: mescolare 10 gocce in una crema neutra.
  • CAPELLI: Frizionare qualche goccia sul cuoio capelluto per ridare corpo e lucentezza ai capelli.
  • DIGESTIONE, NAUSEA e DISTURBI INTESTINALI: 2 gocce in un cucchiaino di miele.
  • CONCENTRAZIONE, MEMORIA E RIFLESSI: 2 gocce in un bicchiere d’acqua.
  • ANTINFIAMMATORIO OSTEO-ARTICOLARE: 10 gocce nell’acqua del bagno.
